City Clerk / Elections Official
As an Elections Official, the City Clerk administers Federal, State, and Local procedures through which local government representatives are elected. The Clerk assists candidates in meeting their legal responsibilities before, during, and after an election. From Election pre-planning, to certification of election results, to installing the elected candidates, and filing of final campaign disclosure documents, the City Clerk manages the process which forms the foundation of our democratic system of government.

Eligiblity to hold office:
CAMPAIGN FINANCING: If you want to begin raising or spending funds to run for office or create a compaign committee, you must begin with the requirements of the Political Reform Act administered by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC). This is a great place to begin familiarizing yourself with all the filing requirements as a candidate for office. (See the quick links list to get there or for more information)
POSTING CAMPAIGN SIGNS: You may begin posting campaign signs that meet the City's Municipal Code Section 153.285(A)(1)(i).
WE WELCOME YOU TO GET INVOLVED:
- Attend City Council meetings on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m., and at 12:00 p.m. every 2nd Monday of January, April, July, and October. Regular meetings take place in the City Council Chambers, 6707 Third Street.
- Visit the City's web site at Council Meetings to obtain the City Council agendas, staff reports, and minutes on past and current action taken by Council.
- Schedule an appointment with City Manager, Jill Anderson, by calling 209-863-7122.

Official Election Results
Voter Regisration Forms are available at the City of Riverbank, City Clerk's office.
Information on your voter registration affidavit will be used by elections officials to send you official information on the voting process, such as the location of your polling place and the issues and candidates that will appear on the ballot. Commercial use of voter registration information is prohibited by law and is a misdemeanor. Voter information may be provided to a candidate for office, a ballot measure committee, or other persons for election, scholarly, journalistic, political, or governmental purposes, as determined by the Secretary of State. Driver's license and social security numbers, or your signture as shown on your voter registration card, cannot be released for these purposes. If you have any questions about the use of voter information or wish to report suspected misuse of such information, please call the Secretary of State's Voter Protection and Assistance Hotline 1-800-345-VOTE .
Certain Voters facing life-threatening situations may qualify for confidential voter status. For more information, please contact the Secretary of State's Safe At Home program or visit the Secretary of State's Web site.
You may register to vote in California if:
- You are a United States citizen
- You are a resident of California
- You are at least 18-years of age (or will be by the date of the next election)
- You are not in prison or on parole for a felony conviction
- You have not been judged by a court to be mentally incompetent
