Economic Development & Housing / Public Information Office - functions to be handled by other departments 

The Economic Development & Housing Department serves as staff to the City Council and is responsible for economic development, redevelopment, housing programs, public information, legislative issues, and emergency management.  The primary function is to administer and develop programs that would assist in the economic growth and housing opportunities for the community.

The Economic Development & Housing Department offers the following services:

Economic Development and Redevelopment 

- Business assistance in the form of the Enterprise Zone (Zone 40) program, small business loans, site selection, and fostering growth with the Riverbank Chamber of Commerce.  Redevelopment activites are aimed at eliminating blight, improving infrastructure, downtown revitalization and encouraging job growth and new development throughout the project area boundaries.

Housing Programs

- First Time Home Buyer - Deferred payment loans to buy your first home within the City limits for low income qualified individuals and families.  Information English - Spanish.

- Housing Rehabilitation - Low interest loans to home owners to rehabilitate their homes.  Current funding for fiscal year 2009-2010 has ended.

Public Information Services 

- Public information services including press releases, social media, and media relations.
