The Economic Development & Housing Department serves as staff to the City Council and is responsible for economic development, redevelopment, the Riverbank Army Ammunitions Plant closure and housing programs.  The primary function is to administer and develop programs that would assist in the economic growth and housing opportunities for the community.

The Economic Development & Housing Department offers the following services:

Economic Development - Business assistance in the form of the Enterprise Zone (Zone 40) program, small business loans, site selection, and networking with the Chamber of Commerce and Riverbank Business Association.

Riverbank Army Ammunition Plant Base Closure - Assisting with the redevelopment and reuse planning of the base closure.

Economic Development Conveyance Application - information and documents relating to Application are available here.

Redevelopment Agency - Eliminating blight, improving infrastructure, and encouraging job growth and new development throughout the project area boundaries.  Several downtown revitalization projects are underway.

First-Time Home Buyer - Up to $70,000 deferred payment loan to buy your first home within the City limits.

Housing Rehabilitation - Low interest loans to home owners to rehabilitate their homes.  Current funding for fiscal year 2009-2010 has ended.
