Streets Division

The Streets Division maintains and repairs the roadway surfaces on City streets including sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.  They also provide street markings, traffic sign installation and repair, street light repairs, and graffiti removal.

Encroachment Permit

Any work performed in the City’s public right-of-way requires an encroachment permit.  This includes but is not limited to: sidewalks, curb and gutter, driveway approach, and any utility repairs or installation.  You may print out and complete the City's encroachment permit.

Street Sweeping

The City  contracts with Gilton Solid Waste Management, Inc. for the sweeping and cleaning of City streets.  Streets are swept every other week.  A call to the Public Works Administration Department can provide you with the week and day of street sweeping in your neighborhood.  You can reach them at 209-869-7128 or you can view the street sweeping schedules and map below.
