Planning will assist you in finding the General Plan Designation and Zoning of property within our community, but that service is just the beginning. Planning involves more than zoning ordinances and regulation. Planning staff works with the community and other City departments in developing strategies and plans for the development of the entire community. Planning attempts to balance the often competing economic, environmental and social needs of the community. To achieve this balance, planning provides input into development review, community goal setting and capital improvement processes. Through continuous community engagement, the planning function helps direct the growth of our growing community toward performing closer to the potential that exists in Riverbank. The desired outcome of the Planning Division has three perspectives: resource conservation, neighborhood stability and economic stability. As such, the Planning Division is a good starting point for most of your informational needs regarding the City.

The PLANNING COMMISSION meets the third Tuesday of each month.
