Although the program is new to Riverbank, it has operated out of the Sheriff’s headquarters for thirty years and many of our past Explorers have gone on to become deputy sheriff’s or police officers. Once trained, our explorers will assist in performing many of the duties around the station, ride on patrol with a regular deputy, assist detectives in special assignments and assist with crime prevention programs and community events. Interested youth between the ages of 15 and 21 can pick up applications at the Police Facility or the Sheriff’s Operations Center at 250 E. Hackett Rd., or contact Deputy Dave Sanson 525-7114 (message).
