As an Elections Official, the City Clerk administers
Federal, State and Local procedures through which local government
representatives are elected. The Clerk assists candidates in
meeting their legal responsibilities before, during and after an
election. From Election pre-planning to certification of election
results and filing of final campaign disclosure documents, the
City Clerk manages the process which forms the foundation of our
democratic system of government.
The City Clerk's Office is
located at 6707 Third Street, Riverbank and is available from 8:00
a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Candidate Nomination Filing Period:
Monday, July 14 - Friday, August 8, 2008
Note: The Nomination
period for Mayor has closed. The Nomination Period for
Councilmember has been extended to Wednesday, August 13, 2008.
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (including the lunch hour)
Offices To Be Filled:
Mayor's seat, 4-year term
Compensation: $400.00 monthly
(Incumbent: Christopher Crifasi)
Two (2) City Council seats, 4-year term
Compensation: $350.00 monthly
(Incumbents: Virginia Madueño and David I White)

Any
registered voter 18 years or older residing in the City of Riverbank may run
for office.

Obtain a Candidate's
Guide, with filing forms, from the City Clerks Office during the nomination
period beginning Monday, July 14, 2008 through Friday,
August 8, 2008, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

It is requested that an appointment
be made
in order to review the candidate information which will take
approximately 30 minutes. Contact the City Clerks
Office at (209) 863-7122 for an appointment.

obtain the signatures of at least 20 but not more than 30
registered voters in the City of Riverbank.

Confirm
that you are currently registered to vote in the City of Riverbank.
If you are not sure, contact the Registrar
of Voters Office at (209) 525-5200. Voter Registration
Forms are available at the City Clerk's Office.

Attend
City Council meetings on the 2nd and 4th Monday of
each month at 7:00 p.m. at the City Council Chamber, 6707
Third Street. Council meetings can also be viewed live on Channel
2.

read the
City Council agendas with staff
reports. You can download the agenda for free or for a fee
receive it by regular mail. Contact the City
