Our mission is to make Riverbank a better place by maintaining
an environment that people are proud of and enjoy. Enforcing
rules and regulation may be comforting but it is not our prime
objective. Education and pro-active community involvement is the
key towards making Riverbank a great place for residents,
businesses and visitors.

The unique sense of place is a key
ingredient in the sense of pride evident in the community. This
in turn leads towards the increased property values found within
the community. The goal of this division is keeping Riverbank a
clean and beautiful place. Towards this goal, this division
plays a central role in the Anti-Graffiti educational
presentations, spring cleaning, as well as other functions.
Duties of neighborhood improvement officers include responding to
complaints of violations of the following:
- Abandoned vehicles
- Weed abatement
- Zoning issues
- Animal complaints
- Health and safety issues
- Property maintenance
- Recreational vehicle parking
- Complaints
- Vehicle parking complaints
- Noise complaints
- Respond to citizen questions, complaints, and inquires;
and explain code requirements
- Issue warnings and/or citations for violations
- Document incidents for possible legal action
- Educate the public through personal contacts, school
presentations and articles of City codes and ordinances
- Gain the public's cooperation to make Riverbank a safe
environment to raise a family
