Development of Jacob Myers Park

The City has received grants from the Land and Water Conservation Fund and Recreation Trails Program to develop a loop pedestrian and bicycle trail, group camping area and picnic areas along the trail. This project is complete. Anyone interested in assisting with  projects are welcome to attend the Friends of Jacob Myers Park meeting on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The meetings are held at 6:00pm at the City Hall Council Chambers. Other grant proposals are currently being written to continue to move forward with making the Master Plan for this park a reality.

The Ribbon Cutting for the trail and picnic areas and the Dedication for the Bicentennial Grove will be held on Saturday May 10, 2008 at 10:00am. Please join us for this event. We will have bike hikes, a fun walk/run, a stroller walk and other fun activities!

Teen Center

The City has received a grant to help fund this project. We have a very strong and active Youth and Teen Committee to act as a design and consulting team for this center. We need to raise some funds to provide a match for the grant. Please watch for our fundraisers and if you can help with a donation, please call the recreation office. Construction on this center will begin during the summer of 2008 and be complete in 2009.
