faucet

The draft Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP) and the 2020 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) are now available.

UWMP:

The City of Riverbank prepared this 2020 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) to submit to the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) to satisfy the UWMP Act of 1983 and later updates to the California Water Code requirements. An UWMP helps water suppliers gauge the availability and reliability of their water supplies and their projected water use in the long term (20-25 years). This projected water supply and demand analysis is crucial given the state of California’s future water supply and development challenges, and California law requires larger suppliers to develop and submit UWMPs to evaluate the long-term outlook of water suppliers.

 WSCP:

The City’s Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP) is structured to provide steps respond to a water shortage. The WSCP address the serval types of water supply shortages that could potentially impact the City and its customers. The potential impacts experienced may result from both long-term supply shortages due to years of consecutive dry-year conditions, contamination, etc. and short-term supply shortages that are the result of natural or man-made disasters, such as earthquakes, flood, fire, or other emergencies, that would place restrictions on production capacities. The WSCP is considered a dynamic tool that is adaptable to ensure that its shortage response actions are effective and will produce the desired results.
