Solid Waste Management & Recycling

The City of Riverbank contracts with Gilton Solid Waste Management, Inc. to provide refuse collection and disposal services for residential and commercial collection.  Commercial collections are contracted directly with Gilton Solid Waste Management, Inc.

All residential customers are serviced once per week and commercial bin customers are serviced from one (1) to six (6) times per week.

Collection services will not start before 6:00 a.m. or continue after 6:00 p.m.

Residential Service

The City has a 2-can collection system:

  • The black can is for garbage and recyclables.
  • The gray/green can is for yard waste, food waste, and paper products.  Small branches or trees (i.e. Christmas Trees) should be cut down to fit completely within the gray/green can. Food waste may be placed in a biodegradable bag before placing in the gray/green can.

Lids of both cans should close completely if at all possible.
