The major responsibility of the City Manager is to insure the policies adopted by City Council are integrated into the daily operational procedures and practices of the city.
The City Clerk is the local Elections Official who administers the democratic processes of nonpartisan elections; serves as the Municipal Clerk ensuring all City Council legislative actions are conducted, recorded, and codified; serves as Compliance Officer for federal, state, and local statues; and serves as the Custodian of Records.
The Economic Development and Housing Department serves as staff to the City Council and is responsible for economic development, redevelopment, housing programs, public information, legislative issues, and emergency management.
The Finance Department functions as a coordinating link between all city departments and with agencies and individuals in the public and private sectors regarding all financial issues of the City of Riverbank.
Patrol, general investigations, traffic enforcement, crime prevention and business office functions are performed by personnel assigned to Riverbank Police Services.
The Public Works Division works to ensures a healthy environment for our citizens by providing a safe, clean and ample supply of potable water, and an effective sewage disposal system, and streets and alleyways that are safe and structurally sound. This is accomplished in compliance with State and Federal regulations and requirements.
