City Offices are open to the public. If you are needing to submit a building permit application you may do so in person or via email. Our physical address is 6617 Third St., Riverbank CA 95367.
Business license's are included as part of the building permit application process.
The City's Building Division is responsible for the enforcement of codes, laws, ordinances and regulations pertaining to commercial and residential building constructions and remodeling within the city.
2025 California Building Code Update
The 2025 California Building Standards Code (California Code of Regulations, Title 24) will take effect on January 1, 2026. This code update will include several new provisions that may affect the way buildings are designed, constructed, and remodeled within the City. Take your time before you make a decision about hiring a contractor.Be advised that unlicensed individuals pose a risk to you and the family's financial security. Don't take the risk! The CSLB has established Statewide Investigative Fraud Teams (SWIFT) that conduct undercover sting operations and target inspections to curtail illegal and unlicensed contracting activities. Subsequent violations increase criminal penalties and fines.
