Councilmember Luis Uribe has made Riverbank his home since 2009. Prior to that Councilmember Uribe served in the United States Air Force and received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Modesto Junior College. Councilmember Uribe was elected as the District 1 City Council representative in 2018. Councilmember Uribe has been involved in a variety of committees and local community groups during his time on the Council, some of those include the Stanislaus Homeless Alliance, the Riverbank Downtown Business Coalition, the Taxation and Revenue committee with the League of California Cities, and he currently serves as Co-Chair of the Riverbank Sister Cities Committee. Councilmember Uribe is involved in a wide variety of City-related projects. Current projects include the future revitalization of Castelberg Park, improvements to technology and security throughout Riverbank, and attracting green industry and businesses to Riverbank to provide more local jobs while also working to improve the environment.
Councilmember Uribe has a number of key priorities of which he is passionate about. Some of those priorities he is most focused on include increasing the housing stock (of all types) within Riverbank, improving and revitalizing Riverbank’s park system, and supporting Riverbank businesses in new and innovative ways through public/private partnership and coordination.
In his spare time, Councilmember Uribe enjoys Taekwondo, stock market trading, and most of all, being the best father he can be to his daughter Vyvyana.
